Open House

Tonight was open house night at the high school - we ran through Emily's schedule (AP Chemistry, PreAP French 4, Creative Writing, AP Calculus, AP Language Arts and Composition, Art III, advisory and AP World History) - 10 minutes in each class with 7 minutes to get to each (instead of the kids usual 3minutes).   It was great to meet all of her teachers but look at these two... texting across the room to each other.  ha!

Pool fun

Today was kick off day for Nora and Rose's troop...
we had a pool party and the girls had a blast!

So fun to see all these girls together again!

Outdoor Fun

Lots of outdoor fun today - soccer practice ... boy was it hot!!  Rose and I both came home with sunburns.. whoops!!

When we got home, Rose wanted to try out riding her bike again.  We haven't had a chance to practice since that first day she took off her training wheels this summer.
Even though it's been a while since she rode, she hopped on there and took off...

She can't wait to go out again and ride bikes with Nora!

We headed in and off to church we went and then grabbed a bite to eat...

Rose entered her penguin coloring sheet into the coloring contest..

and then we headed to bed but first took care of all the mosquito bites that Nora and Rose have - sure sign of the late night they played outside last night! :)

Week Catch Up

It's been a busy week... trying to get used to our schedule and the evenings seem to go so quickly... but here's a look back... Sunday we had Emily's Girl Scout troop here to plan their year.  We have a new scout this year - a foreign exchange student from Italy!
Monday came way too quickly... there goes Nora - off to her 2nd week of 6th grade.
We started up piano again, dance is picking up...

Emily has been driving herself to school each morning - parking issues aside, all has gone well... and it's nice to have an extra driver and car in the house if we're going in two different directions!
Rose is enjoying acrodance and was showing us her 'teddy bear stance'
I've been enjoying having 3rd grade lunch duty - I get to spend it with these sweet girls every day!
It's been such a treat this week - our new school principal has been going around to each classroom introducing herself.... the kids have loved it!
 Dinner time discussions... ;)
and soccer has started up again!

and Nora is getting drawing requests from friends - she loves to draw!
Today at school I got to be on the receiving end of our PTA goodies for staff.. :)
and our annual Boosterthon kickoff - so fun!  If you are interested in sponsoring Rose - here's her link ... it has a pretty cute video on it... take a look:

Morgan had to do our farm run today - look at the pretty purple basil we got!

We headed out for a walk after dinner...
and the girls enjoyed some outside time (finally no rain!!)
and Emily and I wrapped up the week with some kitty time at PetSmart...

 So cute!!

Across the Pond

Nora spent 3 weeks in England on a study abroad program - Medieval England... she had the best time.  I'll gather up more of her pictur...
