Memorial Day

Today we celebrated - celebrated our freedoms.. and remembered those that made it possible...
The girls played hard this morning...
Ate lunch and when I put Rose in for her nap we headed outside.. no it wasn't 110 (it's always higher from sitting in the sun) but it was warm.. warm enough to get the pool out... finally!!!
We were outside from 12:30 until 4:00... I don't know about the girls but I'm beat! Whew! The big girls had fun in the water - Rose wasn't sure what to make of that big bathtub that her sisters were going crazy in... next year will be better for her.. but for today she just meandered around doing her own thing.
Here's a video of the girls playing together..

We made one attempt at Skyping with family but the sun was too bright but once inside after flying kites we were able to connect again... Rose ended it on a great note with a lovely screaming fit.. I think she was a tad worn out!
Here's a video of the girls flying their kites:

A little explanation on this picture - no Rose isn't crawling up the hill... she thought it was a giant "step" (she's finally figured out how to come down stairs by turning around - the only one out of 3 that didn't throw a fit when I turned her around to teach her that!) so at the top of the hill she turned around and was scootching her way down the hill... silly girl!
Happy Memorial Day Everyone!

Heigh Ho Heigh Ho

Heigh Ho Heigh Ho - it's back from camp we go! Emily had a blast on her camping trip - even though she was up 'til 3 this morning and then up again at 7 before they all got up to start their day. Here are a couple more pictures from their trip... (from Facebook of course!) :o)

So while we waited for Emily to get home - we headed to church (signed the girls up for religious ed... Nora is so excited to be going to "church school" next year!) then out to lunch with friends and home for some water play. I think warmer weather has finally arrived to stay...

We then went to check out the new playground at Holt..
Back home again because the one at Holt was way too big for our little ones...
And then it was time to get Emily... here she is with her painting she did there...
They also made visors, bracelets, aprons, pot holders, ... the list goes on - the same with the food - I think she had a good time! :o)

Getting Ready

Today was a funny day... you know when you know you have to leave - on a trip, an appointment, and you end up spending the whole day waiting for it? That's how I felt today went. It was good in a way - the girls played well... minimal bickering... I sorted out pictures I want (need) to scrapbook for April...

We ate lunch ... got Rose down for a nap.. not before trying on Daddy's shoes...

While she napped I attacked the Babci pictures.. finishing sorting the "unknown" date pictures and sticking them in their approximate year. My eyes are numb from looking at so many pictures, trying to figure out who people are... it's like a time warp! Then when Rose woke up it was time to gather things and head out. Emily packed up and hopped in the car, ready for her girl scout camping trip with the troop. I love Facebook for this reason - I've been seeing pictures that the moms that went on the trip have been posting all night.. they look like they are having such a great time! Here they all are eating dinner on the way to the campgrounds.

After getting back, we played some more.. Nora drew - here's her "house with shooting stars" - didn't she do great? Then we headed out to dinner.. amazing how the dynamic changes with one less child! :o) So once home again we put the girls to bed, I worked out and hit the pictures again...

Hope you all having "shooting star" dreams of your own... :o)

Across the Pond

Nora spent 3 weeks in England on a study abroad program - Medieval England... she had the best time.  I'll gather up more of her pictur...
