Creativity

Creativity shows itself in many ways... and our girls are no exception..
  in the way they explore...
  in the way they build...

  in the way they experiment...

Emily had such a great time at science camp this year

Yesterday, for their last day, she loved all the liquid nitrogen fun but I think most of all, her rocket fun..
her team's "eggstronaut" was one of the only ones to survive their soda bottle rocket launch.

Today the creativity continued, we had a card making day - inviting friends and customers to make whatever cards they wanted... it was so much fun and so neat to see what the girls came up with - even Rose's "picture of Daddy" card.

Then to wrap up after dinner - a little painting to end the night. I love that our girls enjoy being creative and trying so many things!

Finally... Sleep

It's amazing what sleep all night (well, almost, still up at 4:30am) will do for you!  The day was so much better, feeling better, everything.. so after the last day of science camp we hit the bowling alley (more pictures tomorrow of science camp) ..

 What fun we had..

Rose even got into the action this year.. here are a couple videos of her:

We then cooled off (well, tried to, hard to do so with yet another 101 day!) with some snow cones, then home before going swimming just for fun (only one swim lesson left)... then home just in time to watch the start of the olympic swimming trials before bed.
To wrap up the week - we are so proud of Emily.. she did great at science camp this week (with kids at least a year and some 3 years older than her), and then today we received her end of grade benchmark exam scores... let me just saw WOW!  All the reading, she scored every answer correctly, all her writing scores were perfect, in her math she got only one multiple choice and one open response question wrong.. amazing!!  We are so proud of her!! : ) This from the girl that said she actually likes taking the benckmarks.. guess it shows! :)

Now if we can just sleep

I think we are slowly getting over this mess.. hoping that Emily and Nora don't catch the nasty cold gunk.
So after an afternoon of play time..
I'm just hoping for some sleep...
Last night went like this.. Nora up at 10:30, me to bed around 11:30, coughing 'til about 12:30, Nora up at 2am, back to sleep, coughing more (my stomach muscles actually hurt today from coughing so much last night - feel like I've done 1000 sit ups!), Rose up at 4:24am for the day, me trying to sleep a little more in between her crawling into bed with various snacks...
So tonight... if we can all just sleep, we should be better tomorrow!!

Games

Games... we played them all morning..
Games... feeling better and smiley one minute and then not so much the next...
Games... after delivering lunch to science camp... "find the state you were born in"

Sad Princess

 See this pretty little princess...
With her crown, dress and tap shoes on...
Notice the little rosy cheeks - I believe this little one has the lovely virus Fifths Disease.. no treatment - just wait it out but just feel bad for her.  She's stuffy but no other real symptoms except being a tad fussy and those rosy red cheeks..
So after piano (and living through another 104 temp day), we hit one of the many snow cone places that pop up in the summer here..
and enjoyed a cold treat before heading home...

Ware Thoughts

Our girls.. you never know what they are going to do... I found Nora this morning creating tents everywhere before coming down for breakfast.  Then Rose, who spent most of the day being "Princess Rose" in dress up clothes.  Emily was the little scientist today at Morgan's KIDS Camp then swim lessons this evening, but practiced her piano in between, here's a sample:

So after a hot day like today... makes a little one sleep hard...
But to end tonight - a few comments made by those girls today ... Rose with her "new to me" tap shoes announcing "New Tap Shoes" constantly.. Nora, when I told her that she only has 3 swim lessons left, "Done Already?  But I have so much more to learn." and then Emily, when talking about her swim group going off the diving boards (one in her group didn't want to go so I told her she could ask if she could go with the other group), she said "No, I like for things to happen on their own"...

Across the Pond

Nora spent 3 weeks in England on a study abroad program - Medieval England... she had the best time.  I'll gather up more of her pictur...
