Last Day

Today was the day - last day of school... we had our usual morning routine but after dropping Emily off at school, I headed back to Holcomb for Rose's 1st grade awards...

Hard to believe she's done with 1st grade:

Then back to the classroom to hand out gifts - we created a number chart for Mrs. Beck - I did an alphabet chart for her in the same way when Nora was in her class.
 She was so excited!

Rose said goodbye to some of her buddies...

and then we got Nora and handed out gifts to the other teachers...

Can you believe how much Nora has grown throughout elementary school?  The picture on the right was taken at Kindergarten registration!
Leaving Holcomb...

Then off to get Emily... Summer!!
 Lunch at Stonemill to celebrate!

And then back home... a couple little gifts to celebrate...

Emily gave Nora her old "Holt" pens...

So with school days done for now, school papers sorted and cleaned up, the playroom once again happy and being played in...

 Welcome Summer!!

Memorial Day and Meeting

We had such a nice weekend - no set plans, things we had to do... just cleaned up here and there, did a couple errands...
but for Memorial Day, we had to have our usual BBQ and fruit pizza and s'mores... a lot of food for just the 4 of us!

But it was a beautiful day - we straightened up the back patio some, Mary had a bath and some of the crystals finally found homes.

I was going to post all these Monday night but we had an internet outage so I couldn't get it done...
Yesterday - this is how Rose felt about school ending - she really loves school but I know she's excited about summer too!
We had meetings - popsicle runs and errands to get done yesterday - then last night we had Emily's last meeting before her Quebec trip.  Here's the list of things she'll get to do - she'll be gone Tuesday through Sunday.
We hit Sonic for some slushies on the way home...
Last night Emily was using my computer to study for her last final so I am finally getting around to posting all of these... onto the last day of school!

and Nora's last day as a Holcomb Hornet!

Across the Pond

Nora spent 3 weeks in England on a study abroad program - Medieval England... she had the best time.  I'll gather up more of her pictur...
