It's Electric

I obviously need to start getting to bed earlier - I slept through yet another alarm today - and never knowing when Rose will wake up I can't count on her to wake up early enough anymore... so at 7:10 I traipsed upstairs to find Emily still laying in bed. ahhh!!! Got her lunch made, breakfast for Rose and Nora and took Emily to school. Back home for a shower and had a moment to sit. Tried to put Rose in for a nap.. didn't work... so we played until dance time.
We headed to Nora's dance class.. still no nap for Rose.. back home for lunch.. still no nap... tried one more time to lay her down - finally! So I sat with Nora for a little bit, checked a few emails and heard little noises through the monitor. After only 25 minutes, she was awake again.. ahh!! So we played some more until snack/early dinner time. With Emily's dance class, we have to eat early. But while playing, this time I did get some things done for our Brownie meeting this weekend. We are working on a patch called "Dancercize" so I was coming up with activities for that. Amongst other things, I thought - we could teach them the Electric Slide..
So that led me on a hunt for the music - downloaded to my phone, check... see if I remembered the steps, check.. and we're set. So on the way to dance I played the song for the girls... Nora giggled every time they said "Boogie, Woogie"... but all 3 of them we're dancing in their own way to it... so fun! Morgan picked up Emily from dance so that I could get Rose to bed on time if not early... and while was waiting for them to get home I did a little digging.. sorry for the quality - it's a video from my camera off the TV .. but it was still fun to find... and now I'm sharing it with you... :o) Yes, this is us (Kellianne on hip) at our wedding dancing the Electric Slide. Of course, Nora yelling Mommy in the background wasn't on the video - that came through the monitor while I was recording this.. :o)

I got it recorded right before they got home and Emily came in in this... she was so excited! Her dance recital outfit came in!!! YAY!

TV Land

What a fun afternoon for our girl scouts! Not so much for mama here! But the girls had a tour of the KNWA studios (local NBS station). They even were on the 5:00 news and then had a chat with the meterologist Dan Skoff about severe weather. They were so excited. Here are some of my favorite pictures but the rest are here on this Walmart album:

This is a picture of them on live TV... you can see the TV on the left showing what they looked like on TV and them in the background in the studio.
This is the troop with Nellie Jones, one of the anchors of the evening news.
I'm watching the news now to see if they have a bit about them being on earlier... but I'm also checking their website to see if they post a video there. You can check too.. I would think it would be in their news archive section:
http://nwahomepage.com/news-archive
And while I was checking on that, they had this you tube video posted.. it's just hilarious so I have to share it...too funny!!

Mystery Solved

The joys of a rainy morning! With a dreaded migraine this morning, I figured today would be a rough day.. it was at points but it could have been a lot worse!

After going back to sleep some and taking my medicine, my head eased some... but then the weather helped just make it an at home day and skip story time.
It was thundering, lightning, raining this morning.. so Rose had a jammie day... love those footie jammies! And the famous squat pose - it's always amazed me how little ones can do that!
She's getting faster and faster with her walking.. so cute!

So we played, tried a nap (no luck... ) so we played some more...
Nora's going so fast, she's blurry - she was "an elf going to the North Pole to get Santa so I have to ride the horse because it's really far"...
Ahh.. she made it!
Then we tried for a nap again - success.. but only for 40 minutes! That's the only nap all day!

So when Emily came home, I showed them the new Easter baskets I got for them. They were so excited... they had to run and play "Easter" with hiding eggs and all.
Then onto our mystery... Lizzie's been hanging out in the laundry room a lot lately... wasn't sure why.. but then today while I was doing laundry - I finally figured it out...
Outside our laundry room window, between the wall and the gutter... is a nest.. a busy one at that.. not sure if they eggs have hatched or if the birds are just the ones chirping.. but they are noisy... (see the video below).. so the girls are anxious to see if they'll be able to spot the baby birds!

Finishing the Week

The end of Spring Break... it was sure to come.. but we had a great week of friends and fun! We had more friends over last night and the kids had a blast. I didn't post these last night as I was falling asleep working on pictures. Remember how I told you I was starting to tackle Babci's pictures?! Well, tackle is putting it lightly! Please please please - if you have any pictures in the magnetic (sticky) albums.. take them out now! Ugh! I've used floss, straight edge blade... everything trying to get up some pictures - they are like superglued onto the pages! Definitely not good for them. But I'm finally done getting them up and now have the job of sorting them by year (I have them all in decade piles right now) and figuring out who's who in all the pictures (Mom & Dad we'll have a lot of work to do when you are here in May!!)...

Well, back to the grind tomorrow - obviously Mother Nature is sad too- it was only in the 30s all day today and is supposed to be cold again tomorrow.. so much for Spring!

A Hiking We Will Go

The weather held out - yay! We were able to head up to Bella Vista and hike the Tanyard Creek Trail. I've heard great things about this place and am so glad we got the chance to go up there.
We meandered about through limestone bluffs...
meadows (at the top of the meadow here is a lake!)...
learning how things are connected...
exploring waterfalls...
finding critters...
enjoying connections...
enjoying giggles...
swaying in the breeze...
and feeling the water trickle through our fingers...
but of course with all that... "it's a lot of hard work for little feet" so Daddy helped the rest of the way...
Looking for more pictures from our adventure? Here's the link to the album on Walmart:

To wrap up the day we went out to dinner with our friends Celeste and Teaghan - Nora has been dying to hang out with Celeste - and boy did she make her day! When we went to Red Robin, Celeste took Nora to a separate table and they just hung out and ate together.. then back at the house she sat and played dress up and had a tea party with her before heading out. Emily and Teaghan are still up upstairs sorting out Shrinky Dinks before heading to bed - they were supposed to be at a lock in at the library but it got canceled so they are having a sleepover here instead.

Across the Pond

Nora spent 3 weeks in England on a study abroad program - Medieval England... she had the best time.  I'll gather up more of her pictur...
