Halloween

Happy Halloween dinner to kick off the night - always fun!  Then out to trick or treat...

It was oddly warm... so strange...
but so fun - love how our neigborhood goes all out for Halloween...

so after walking the neighborhood - it's always as much fun to hand the candy out.. Happy Halloween!

Meals, Research and Fun

Emily and Nora created some freezer meals this morning at a Girl Scout event  - when they were done we headed east for the robotics team to do some research and earn a fun badge on the way.

The girls did some deer research and then when we were done, we wandered the elk education center...

and once the research was done - we continued on some badge fun - there was a Girl Scout event where you explored Boxley Valley, took notes of things learned, and turned it in for the badge.. so fun!
We even saw a bald eagle while waiting for the old mill tour...

Rose had my phone and was taking pictures...

After the mill, our next stop was the Boxley Valley church and cemetery...

Then a hike up to the Villines homestead,,,

Before we picked up our badges - we did spot two female elk on the way out...
(We plan to go back in a few weeks and will stay later to see more... can't wait!)

 A beautiful rainbow
and sunset on the way home...

and then finally Morgan got home (this was in CA before we left)
These two were just as excited as the rest of us...
What a trip though... he came home with a busted calf and a lost colleague - we are so sad and heart broken for his family - during the night Wednesday night, Mike passed away while at the conference with Morgan.  I taught with his wife at the preschool and had one of his sons in my class my first year there...just so sad...

Across the Pond

Nora spent 3 weeks in England on a study abroad program - Medieval England... she had the best time.  I'll gather up more of her pictur...
