Cookie Time

It is cookie day - and my feet and legs are killing me!  I left work a little early to join the other 5 moms that were helping pick up cookies.
We shuttled the cookies back to my garage - all 678 cases/8136 boxes of cookies

and from 1pm til around 6pm, we sorted and counted boxes...
These girls enjoyed their yummy cookie snack today!

Nora was doing her part as well...

Movie Day

We all slept in and then rushed out to church - while the younger two were at religion class, Emily drove us to Starbucks and actually did the drive- thru, ordered and everything!!

Home for lunch and then girls afternoon at the movies.  (and it won't let me rotate that picture - but yes, Emily and I were there)
What a great movie!!  I'd love to read the book - but found this article about it too:
http://www.popularmechanics.com/space/rockets/a24429/hidden-figures-real-story-nasa-women-computers/

On the way home, Rose is writing away saying that she's a mathematician just like Katherine. :o)
Love the story(lots of questions from the girls) and of course the NASA stuff - made me browse through Dziadzu's old pictures of work he did..

Couldn't find the picture of Dad working at IBM to share - the part about IBM in the movie was so interesting too... but on the way out, Nora found this (said "Dziadzi luck!" as soon as she picked it up) - but it was a 1959 penny!

Hikes and Around the World

Thinking Day prep took up most of this week - lots of little details... but we made it... so let's take a look back.  Nora loves Science Club - they created this structure on Wednesday.
Thursday she came home from school with this Helium atom..
as well as her Hike It, Shoot it, Write it shirt...
 hard to believe it's her turn to go through the program - appropriately so, this picture wandered by on our digital frame - Emily in 4th grade on one of the family hikes;
Rose came home with a project of her own from class - body tracing... so fun!
Thursday was also Kindergarten registration - so in honor of all my Zebras signing up for their schools - here's a look back at me and the girls on our first days of K

and then outside time - it was beautiful this week - hot even!!

and we wrapped up the week with some kitty time...

Today was Thinking Day - Emily's troop was doing Spain, Nora's Australia and Rose's Madagascar.

Rose got to carry the flag after winning a game of Rock Paper Scissors - ha!

Across the Pond

Nora spent 3 weeks in England on a study abroad program - Medieval England... she had the best time.  I'll gather up more of her pictur...
