The Big Cut

Today was family haircut day... we have been going together for haircuts since Emily was a baby and we moved to MD - but the days of going together started even further back when Morgan and I were still living in NC...

Today was going to be different though - today is the day of the big cut!

Emily just wanted a trim as she's growing her hair out.. so here's her before picture...
and her after picture...
Then Morgan and I had our turns ... then it was Nora's turn. Lots of people think we've never cut her hair before because of the length. But.. we have - lots of times.. it just grows really fast!

So here's one of her "before" pictures...
and another...
Now for the straightening part...
and more... (she has a lot of wave in her hair)
and even more...
Then making ponytails...
and checking..
Now - are you ready for her after shot?

Are you?

Even I was a little hesitant to watch... I was so excited for her and she knew it would look cute ...

But to see all that hair cut off... whew!!

Anyway - here we go...

Here's the initial cut - we got two ponytails that we are going to send into Pantene's Beautiful Lengths program where they create wigs for cancer patients. Two 8 inch pony tails.. wow!!!
Here she is with Kelli (our hair dresser since we moved here) after all the reshaping ...
She looks so cute and so grown up.. geez!!

The rest of the afternoon we spent running errands, playing Wii, going to Mass and then back home for dinner and more Wii play...
A very full day - now, who can't wait to see Nora's hair after we washed it tonight? :o) Well, that picture will have to wait until tomorrow!!

Back to Us

Today was our last day... we spent the morning packing, cleaning up, and just making sure we had everything gathered.

I had lots of helpers making breakfast this morning...
Then it was play time and packing time. Chaz really wanted to finish the Lego houses before leaving so he had some help from Nora - ha! :o)
Rose was busy making her way around the floor - she actually scooted over to her bouncy seat and was sucking on the edge of it.. silly girl!
Mark and Emily were having fun on the Wii...this game is so fun!!

Then they had some Rose cuddle time...
After packing, a quick group shot - too bad this one is blurry because it's a great picture of all the kids...
but I'm glad I took one more - too bad Nora's not smiling in this one...
Then it was time to take pictures with Rose...

And John had to say goodbye to all the animals - he loved going in throughout the day and saying hi to them!
We had to then hit the road for lunch and the airport.. .
Here we are at Zaxby's for lunch...
Then onto the Fort Smith airport..
And then final goodbyes as they all went through security...
It was so great to have them all here - the kids had a blast, us grown ups had a blast.. just so fun!!! I'm so thankful to have such close family that we can get together and have a wonderful time!!! Love it!!

So home again... the tunnel is always our sign that we are almost home.. whether we have traveled near or far - it just means home...
Once home again, Emily proudly finished the houses up ... (Chaz she wanted to make sure you saw this picture)
And while I got dinner together - Nora was having her own dancing fun...

Last Full Day

Well, today was our last full day together. What a blast we've had! It's been so much fun having everyone here!!!

Today we started the day hanging out- got a picture of Emily with Carolyn surrounded by her old furniture (Emily inherited all of Carolyn's things)...
We then went to Fun City...

Then to Build a Bear....

Then to the pool...

Then home to eat dinner, play with Legos...
And celebrate Chaz's birthday - it's a little early but we can still celebrate...

Then outside to launch the rocket...

Fizz up some mentos in Coke...

and have some liquid nitrogen fun!
What a great day! I'm headed to bed though - Rose has been getting up each night 2-3 times so it's really Really catching up to me!!!

Across the Pond

Nora spent 3 weeks in England on a study abroad program - Medieval England... she had the best time.  I'll gather up more of her pictur...
