Here and There...

Today was one of those days that we were here, there and everywhere it seemed... we started the morning with little ones sleeping in - for Nora 7 is sleeping in and Emily we got up at 8:15... we need to get her back on schedule for school sleeping for next week - yikes!

After dinner we tackled the Christmas tree - taking down ornaments, packing things away - Morgan hauled the tree out and vacuumed up all the mess.. now to just get the boxes back upstairs to store them...
The girls helped here and there and Emily was also working on making Lego people to put on her swing that she made so they bounced back and forth from that and helping us out.
While getting ready to head out a box came - Babci sent two blankets for Peanut as well as some dolls and birdhouses for the girls...
Nora was all ready ....
and then was Emily - she got to change her earrings today!!! She was so excited! This is the first time since getting them pierced after her birthday - she did really well with it!
We then headed out to the Verizon store - they didn't give us certain credits that they said they would once our bill arrived... so we took care of that ... lunch and then a stop at Sam's.. for just 3 things which turned into a lot more but then we headed home.

We don't have much planned for New Year's... the full moon is beautiful though but I'll be lucky to stay up 'til 10! Peanut is becoming a lot more restless at night and my bathroom runs are getting more frequent at night too.. so makes for a sleepy mommy come morning... we have sparkling grape juice and a special dessert to celebrate the new year with the girls tomorrow too and plan a trip to Chuck E Cheese for lunch... the girls got gift cards from there as Christmas gifts so we figured we'd go tomorrow.

Day of Cleaning

Today (with the nasty weather outside) was the perfect day to start cleaning things up... started some a couple days ago but knowing Morgan will be heading back to work next week - I'm taking advantage of him being around to help out. The weather didn't yield any snow that stayed so it was just drizzle, cloudy and cold outside all day - perfect cleaning weather!

So while the girls were busy I started taking things down. Lizzie and Gabby were doing their share to help out too...
The girls stayed busy going room to room doing different things - coloring in Emily's room, Barbies in Nora's room.....
Magnets in the living room....
computer games in the living room...
and then K'Nex fun in the dining room - you could practically trace a trail through the house of where they've been... oh they were upstairs too but we haven't ventured up there to clean up yet - rather scared too as they were up there alone while I took my shower and Morgan ran into work because they were turning the power off and he had to monitor the lab equipment.

After some veg time in front of the TV and I dozed a little - we tackled a round of playing "Uno Moo".... we had a lot of fun playing it and Nora caught on really quick... we had to stop to have dinner and all but I'm sure we'll be playing it some more soon.
For a little lice update, today with checking Nora's hair and last night with checking Emily's - in the past 2 weeks these are the first checks that we haven't found any live ones.. .we are hoping that means we are finally getting a head of these little critters and will have life back to normal soon! What a long couple weeks it's been with all this - of course we still have all the stuff we bagged up to go through but they will stay in the garage until we find no more live ones and no more eggs... not taking any chances!

Lastly we can't forget about Peanut - I received my week 34 update today - which means only 6 more weeks until my due date! Yikes... so here's the latest of what it's been up to besides kicking me like crazy!

Feels Good to Sit

Ahh.. to just sit... my past two days of nice relaxing time ending today. We had some errands to run in anticipation of more snow coming... while getting everything together for all of our little trips I found this upstairs on the Magna Doodle.. obviously Emily has been drawing... glad I found it before she erased it.
So we headed out - down to south Fayetteville to deliver a stamp order... back up to the library to get new books... quick stop to the post office to mail off phone rebates... a stop for lunch .... to Walmart to get supplies for the Girl Scout Cookie Kick Off Event... then to the movies. (No wonder my leg hurts today!)... we went to see the Princess and the Frog... we don't get to the movies that often and even less with the girls.. so this was a real treat... no matter how comfy theater seats are - when you are as pregnant as I am and have a toddler that doesn't like the loud noises ... makes for a very uncomfortable almost 2 hours! On the way home, Emily was deep into a new Nancy Drew book she got at the library and Nora doozed off.
Once home we heard from the dr. office... after going over what we have done she recommended the mayo treatment again saying we can do it every 2-3 days and to leave it on for 2 1/2 hours .. so we lathered both girls up (Nora did not like it - every time she looked in the mirror she cried (really boohooed) saying "don't put mayonnaise in my hair, mayonnaise is for sandwiches".. so we got done and they sat through dinner and the rest of play time like that. I felt like I was giving both girls a highlight - I got them good this time basically lathering up every teeny tiny section with mayo!
So for now, Morgan is helping Emily rinse out her hair and Nora is fast asleep. We are both so tired of this and hope this is the final kicker to getting them out of their hair! Weather wise - we'll see what comes tonight.. but they seem to have snow in the forecast almost every other day for the next week... again, you never know with winter weather until it's actually falling from the sky but the girls are excited about another chance to play out in the snow!

Day of Building and Preparing

Another nice relaxing day - I must note these... the girls played so nice! We started out the morning with building with Legos and K'nex... then headed out to Target to pick up a few things and spend a few gift cards. The girls had a good time picking things out and I picked up a few things for Peanut that had worn themselves out with the last two little ones.
Home again and the girls moved onto dress up and baby doll stuff. Quite an elaborate set up and story they had going on. I started picking up some of the Christmas stuff - not a lot but I'm starting to get antsy knowing what else we need to prepare for after all this! :o)
After baby dolls and dress up it was back to Legos and K'Nex while we were getting dinner together. Bath and shower followed ... Morgan went through Emily's hair again - finding more little critters. I'm calling the dr. tomorrow to see how long we should find them after treating and retreating - I know they don't die immediately but ick! Nora fell asleep really fast (she was up some last night) so after Morgan was done with Emily's hair we cleaned off her new earrings ready to be put in in a few days (this will be the first time that she will be able to change them since getting them put it!)... she's so excited!

Lazy Day

What an absolutely lazy day... Nora was up at 6:30 but hung out watching TV in bed for a little bit before heading out to the living room to play. We ate breakfast and then it was non stop play for the girls. Again, they did so good together... Nora was dress up queen in the morning moving from outfit to outfit all morning. Here she is as Belle...

Emily was busy making bracelets and stickers all morning - she actually ran out of sticker paper for her sticker maker so she moved onto her new beads. She made a few bracelets including one for Peanut. She put it on the stuffy that Santa brought for Peanut - Emily put it on her list saying that Peanut can't make up their own list so she figured it should get something too. So the bunny with bracelet awaits Peanut's arrival in the pack 'n' play.
The birds were busy today - it's was a dreary cold day all day - didn't get above 27 outside.. brrr... I didn't even venture out to deliver stamp orders... didn't want to risk slipping on ice or anything...
After lunch the girls moved onto more dress up play and being ballerinas. Here is Emily's dancing outfit she put together and Nora had on her own ballerina outfit.
After a while Nora comes out of her room saying she needed her screwdriver... so she got it from under the tree and headed back to her room - we had to check it out. Her mirror had fallen off her door and she was trying to fix it. She said Daddy would need to get his tools too and they would fix it together. Very cute...

Snow Day

Today was such a nice relaxing day - the girls played great... we cleaned up a little.. had to get the boxes out of the way for more room to play... then we headed out for more snow play. The girls had snow ball fights, went sledding, rolling in the snow... Gabby joined us too and just loves running out there... good time had by all... It was a little warmer (28 versus 18 from yesterday) but the winds were still whipping pretty good so we weren't out long. But after heading in from the field, the girls got busy building a snowman... Morgan and I headed in ... they had a great time out there... and made quite a cute snowman! :o)

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Christmas Eve

Thank goodness we had a great day yesterday - I needed it to be ready for today... and all that resting still didn't have me ready for it! Nora woke up at who knows what time but was in our room at 5:30am asking to watch TV! We doozed for a little bit longer until I just couldn't take the feet in my face anymore. So we got up... ate breakfast and then started the hair treatments again. It took me 5 1/2 hours to go through both girls hair ... finally finishing with Emily at 1! I was beat.. the girls were tired and we still had a bunch to do. Emily was getting picked up for her living nativity at 3 and we had to leave shortly after to ensure getting seats at Mass. So after a quick lunch we made our Happy Birthday Jesus cake - the girls had fun making it and watching it bake!We then got dressed for church - still not sure if we were going with watching the weather updates.... but we all got dressed and took some pretty family pictures all prettied up.
Then Emily left and we left about 15 minutes after that. It had been raining all day and the temperature quickly dropping so we took it easy getting there. Once there and seated we went and found where Angel Emily was. She was so excited to participate again this year.
Nora barely made it through Mass but enjoyed trying to see Baby Jesus the whole time and liked going up and listening to "The Night Before Christmas" which Fr. John read to the kids (with a Santa cap on) before concluding Mass. We then swung by McDonald's for dinner but Nora fell asleep. So she didn't get to participate in our Chirstmas Eve stuff but that's ok... knowing how early she was up it's better she let us change her and go back to sleep pretty easily.

So then Emily and I got to work - laying out cookies for Santa, feeding the reindeer outside (it was nasty out there!!!) and finishing off our cake.
So now we are ready - waiting for the snow to fall and wake up to a White Christmas - it's been a long time since we've had one so it will be nice! Good Night and Merry Christmas - talk to you all in the morning!!
