My Little Packer

Today was (is) a busy day of packing.. getting everything ready for our trip... gathering the girls clothes and all the food we'll need. It's so different packing for a trip rather than visiting family... no washers, etc... :o) So we are bringing plenty of warm clothes - the weather is supposed to be a beautiful highs in the mid 60s and lows in the 30s! Ahh... what a relief from our 100s that we have!

Rose was "helping" me pack today - every time I turned around new clothes were in the suitcase and the ones I put in were thrown around the sewing room.. great fun! Thankfully I was able to finish up after she went to bed.

So wish us luck - not sure what kind of internet service we'll have in our hotels and such... I'll post pictures if I can.. if not, I'll just bombard you all when we get back! :o)

Modeling Fun

What a fun day for Nora... I'll back track a tad... last Friday a friend of mine called seeing if I would mind helping out a photographer that was looking for a red head. I know it was something to do with Walmart but besides that I didn't know much about it. So this morning we headed up early (out by 7:15!), Rose fell asleep on the way since she had been up since 5:15!

We got there and they did a couple test pictures and then we went back at 11. They tried Rose in a couple costumes, as much as she loved wearing them, she wasn't that great having her pictures taken in them.

Nora got the star treatment of hair and make up done and tons and tons of Halloween costumes to wear and have her pictures taken in. What were they doing? These pictures will be on the 2012 Halloween costumes packages for Walmart. How fun would that be if they chose some of Nora?! :o)

After playing "dress up" for 2 hours! Yes, 2 hours... we grabbed some lunch and headed home. Thankfully Rose slept on the way home.. then we had some playtime and waited for Emily to come home.

It's become a fun tradition to wait outside for Emily to come walking up the hill.. :o)

Baby Bookworms

We went to Rose's very first baby bookworms today - she was so cute! Nora came today but most days she'll be at school when we go. Our friends Enma with little Isaac came too... they had a lot of fun..

Played with scarfs...

Sang songs.. read books... and played with jingle bells...

Rose really liked "Popcorn" and we ended up doing it all afternoon.. so cute! Looking forward to next week!

Here's a little video of her while they were dancing with the jingle bells.

A Meeting With a Widow

Today we had a job to do (in between hair cuts, shopping, lunch, and playtime)... we had a meeting with a lovely miss black widow that decided to use out kitchen door as a good place to anchor her web. We woke this morning to find that she had made her egg sack and it was huge.. so it was time to get her down! We've had run ins with black widows before - tried the bug spray but know the only way to get rid of her is to use a really heavy board.. ugh! So we did the dirty deed (well, Morgan actually did)... and now we can use our back door again.. yay!

How Much Can You Pack In a Day?

Today was an interesting day of everything... it wasn't overly stressed or packed but we sure did a lot.

I guess today really started last night - after playing bunco, then working some after getting home, I went to bed a tad late... then Gabby was up at 3 and Rose up at 5:30... so this morning was a tad sluggish...

We played and waited for Nora's playdate time to come.. like Rose the cowboy and Nora the horse healer?

Abella and Nora (two Belles in a pod) had fun together... ate lunch and we brought her home before Rose's nap... while they played, I worked with a friend on organizing some of her pictures - I'm working on some scrapbooks for her...then a little work on Girl Scout stuff (our 1st meeting is this weekend), some church website stuff (we're revamping the whole thing) and some of my own scrapbooking stuff...
After Rose's nap we had a little playtime but they we waited for Emily to come home..
So she got ready to head out to the porch to watch for Emily...
Then out we went.. Emily was going to be walking home from the bus stop alone for the first time today... So Rose played with her shadow... and her shoes...

And then we spotted her... up the road she came...
She even ran some (we were heading right to piano so she wanted to make sure we left on time)... so a full day... let's hope for a restful night!

Dancing....

Today was the first day of dance classes...

First up was Nora...

Then Emily's this afternoon...

So what's a busy toddler to do while waiting? Imitate of course...
And with all that dancing.. one does get thirsty! :o)

Indoor Play Time

A day full of visitors - play group this morning, customers, and a fellow mom with a new goodie to try..she recommended this portable high chair for traveling - but I was thinking it could be used to transition from high chair to the regular table so she's letting us borrow it to try it out. Rose seemed to like sitting there - so we'll see..

Then onto evening play time - it's been really hot again so playtime stayed inside.. bouncy balls have been the game of choice lately.. well, Rose decided to get in on the action as well...

They were going crazy! Aren't girls supposed to be nice and calm? Ha! Not our's! :o) Here's some video of them going through the hallway -

and believe it or not.. no one got hurt, then were just plum tired when dinner came around!! :o)

Rainy Day

It's been a great afternoon of a steady drizzly rain... we definitely need it but it also gave us an excuse to use our new umbrellas... Nora couldn't wait!

So we walked down to the bus stop in the rain and brought Emily her umbrella as well...

We enjoyed an afternoon of pirate fun...

And make your own pizza night.. yum!

Festival

Today we went to our church's festival... ate...played games... ate some more... it was really hot so I was able to convince Nora that bouncing in the bouncy thing was not the best idea.. but they did have fun...

Home again for a quiet afternoon - the girls played pretty good together - while Morgan did some car stuff... big one getting an oil change getting the car ready for our big trip coming up..

Then a dinner full of giggles and silliness.. good day...

Across the Pond

Nora spent 3 weeks in England on a study abroad program - Medieval England... she had the best time.  I'll gather up more of her pictur...
