It Is Finished

They started out as a 5th grader and a Kindergartener for the last time today....
And while Rose and I played and cleaned and shopped the day away...

The girls wandered back home... all done and finished with yet another school year.  Emily came home with the contents of her locker...

and Rose was so excited to meet her in the field...
So here she is.... ready for 6th grade to come...

Then it was time to get Nora from the bus stop... she was so excited to be finished with Kindergarten and can't wait to start 1st grade!

So here the backpack will stay 'til August...
and these three will have a ton of fun playing and exploring together...
But first, I must get through this pile.. all the school work home for the year!
But first... we went out to celebrate the school year being finished...
And even Morgan got to join us too!

Happy Summer everyone!!!

Emotional Day

Now that things have settled a bit - I can finally write... I've had the pictures uploaded and ready to go for a couple hours but the weather has not cooperated.  The storms passing through were quite hairy with phones, weather radio, emails all alerting us to a tornado warning - (we'd call you Mom and Dad if it was close enough to have to take cover).... thankfully things dissipated for now - hopefully the rest will too!  Whew!  Thank God for street level radar to be able to track storms that closely (nothing touched down - just spin ups of rotation)...

So ... onto our day... what an emotional day!  Celebrating Nora's Kindergarten award ceremony - she's almost all done for the year - just one more day and then she'll be a big 'ole 1st grader!!!

Nora was quite proud of her "Completion of Kindergarten" Award - we are too!  She's learned so much this year!

So before hitting the road for the day - some quick pictures with friends and teachers from her class.

We then checked Emily out and declared it a "family obligation" day - at least that's what I signed the girls out of school for. :o)  This was Mom and Dad's last day here.  They will be hitting the road back to Florida early tomorrow morning so we spent the day together.  First heading to the Crumpet Tea Room for lunch.

Back home for play time and weather watching.. the skies looked awful all day!

So then just some time to cherish the little things that make their visit so special... and just some of the things that we will miss so much...
Making music, bedtime stories and games...

Great visit... just wish it didn't go by so quickly...

Across the Pond

Nora spent 3 weeks in England on a study abroad program - Medieval England... she had the best time.  I'll gather up more of her pictur...
